A post-Olympic high in the UK

Trying different cuisine is one of the joys of travel. We have just finished up a brief stop over in the UK where it is clear that ‘traditional’ English food is on the rise. It is amazing how many ways you can cook offal and pigs ears.  Even more amazing – it tastes pretty good.

Interestingly, England seems to be on a post-Olympics high. The economy is still as bad as a year ago but no one seems to care. Instead, people seem upbeat and optimistic. This is surprising for the English at any time, but with the economy of the UK and Europe still looking dismal, it is completely unexpected. Now, if only it was reflected in the economic statistics …
