Berlin and Chinese tourists

by

We have just finished a few days in Berlin. One thing that struck us was the lack of Chinese tourists compared to, say, Paris. But may be it is understandable. Berlin is like a giant monument against political excess of both the left and the right. What on earth does the party-approved tour guide say when showing Chinese tourists the Berlin wall – a structure wholly designed by a communist dictatorship to keep its populace subjugated? Maybe the GDR were just the wrong sort of communists?
One Response to "Berlin and Chinese tourists"
  1. I noticed that the ticket machines at the Louvre offered a Japanese language option but not Chinese – a sign that independent Chinese visitors are not yet visiting Paris in large numbers?
