Private FuelWatch

Coming soon, is Fuelmarket. According to Convenence World magazine,

Consumers log into the Fuelmarket website to accessa  two-day or seven-day option to buy petrol without queuing for shopper dockets.

Petrol may be priced at a local site at 147.9 cents per litre for ULP but consumers could choose a 142.9 cents per litre price and the difference, a five cents per litre margin at $2.50 for a 50lt purchase, can be used as an in-store credit for in-store purchases.

The scheme would also be used to offer petrol price guarantees.

Does this sound familiar? Well, it has elements of the ideal scheme that I posited a few weeks back but that so many thought was unworkable. Apparently not. I really hope the Public FuelWatch scheme doesn’t stifle this kind of innovation.
