This blog began in 2006 and was solely authored by Joshua Gans, an economics professor at the University of Melbourne. In 2008, the blog became multi-authored with other academic economists joining Core Economics.

The topics on this blog reflect the wide interests of the authors. Much of the commentary is about economic policy and economic issues. However, a myriad of posts discuss aspects of business strategy, technology and innovation.
